Thank you for your interest in ordering cheese from Ancient Heritge Dairy. We take great pride in producing a quality handcrafted artisan product for you to enjoy. Cheese can be shipped across country quite easily, however, certain steps need to be taken to ensure quality.

All orders are shipped each Tuesday.

In order to ensure that our cheeses maintain their highest quality after shipping it is important that all cheese be recieved and refrigerated within 2 days of departure from our dairy. Our soft ripened bloomy cheeses are particularly sensitive to prolonged shipping times and may become over-ripened if not recieved promptly.

We ask that all cheese be shipped using Fedex Express 2 day shipping. It is possible to use Fedex Ground if you live within the Pacific Northwest region defined by Fedex in the link shown, below. Ground shipping could be used to ship cheese from the Canada border to San Fransisco. Outside of this region Fedex 2Day shipping must be used.

Also, cheese should always be shipped to a location where someone will be able to accept the order upon arrival. If a package is returned to the warehouse because there was not anyone to recieve the package or if it sits outside for any period of time we cannot guarantee the quality of the cheese.

When you receive our cheese please refrigerate in your normal butter or cheese area. Re-wrap unused portions of your cheese in the special paper that you recieved it in. This cheese has no preservatives so it is alive and changing. It needs to breath, so please don't wrap it in plastic.

Eat all aged and washed rind cheese within 2-3 weeks from arrival for best results.

Eat our bloomy soft-ripened cheese within 7-10 days from arrival for best results. There is a "make date" on the label to help you judge the condition of the cheese. 30-35 days from the make date is the classic semi-soft condition, when this cheese is best served. Under normal refrigeration, this cheese will be too strong and have an ammonia scent after 6 weeks from the make date, so do not serve.

ENJOY!

If you have any questions about shipping, storing or serving our cheese please do not hesitate to contact us at anheritage@smt-net.com or by phone at 503-394-2649.
